News: Successful 85th Anniversary Celebration!
Omega's 85th Anniversary Celebration was a wonderful success. Over 175 sisters came from all over the country to reconnect with each other and celebrate Omega!
The weekend started off with a Reception and Silent Auction. Twenty-nine "baskets" donated by our alumnae and collegiate members were auctioned off. The baskets contained items such as A-Phi paraphernalia, Lily-of-the-Valley china, spa packages, beautiful jewelry, an autographed book, and several vacation spots. The American Heart Association donated a sparkly red rhinestone Red Dress brooch that was raffled off over the weekend as well.
Saturday brought us a beautiful day for UT football and a delicious fajita buffet from Pappasito's. The chapter decorated the house with orange & white balloons. Many of us could be found in the Chapter Room looking through old scrapbooks and pointing each other out on the composites.
On Sunday morning, the Red Dress Brunch started with a beautiful serenade by the Forget-Me-Notes. Clarissa L., VP-Marketing, welcomed everyone and recognized all members of the Advisory Board and House Corporation Board. A State of the Chapter was given by the President, Jennifer M., where she "wow-ed" all of us with the accomplishments of our chapter. HCB members, Mary P. and Carol J., reported on the state of the chapter house and the Alpha Phi House Association. Recruitment Advisors, Jennifer K. and Melissa M., and VP-Recruitment, Jennifer L., spoke on recruitment and the changes that have happened over the last five years. We were honored to have Billie B., International Executive Board member, give our keynote address and perform the 50-Year Pin Ceremony. Over 20 beautiful alums were honored and received their 50-year pins.
Thank you to each and every one of you. Without your donations and attendance, the 85th Anniversary Celebration would not have been the success that it was. We are very happy to report that over $4,000 was raised for the 1920 Omega Society and the Alpha Phi Foundation.
